street photography

I always love street photography, but never really have the chance to do it. Well, i have my own reasons.

To begin with, hey…i live in jakarta, which i think not really the best place to have your big expensive chunky DSLR and that ” L ” lens hurling on your neck. That thing is a robber magnet you know. We don’t have any insurance that cover your photo equipment, and i still love my camera. So, i don’t think will doing street with my beloved DSLR camera.

Second, i don’t think dslr is a way to go for taking a street photography. I’m not saying it can’t be done…..it can, but i just don’t think it’s a way to go.
DSLR is way too high profile. People will instantly realized when you pointing a DSLR at them, the size of it will intimidate people much, and it won’t be easy to capture the natural feelings and emotion (even i, myself always feel awkward whenever people pointing that thing at me).

Well, recently my girlfriend got me this panasonic GF3 (yaaaaaaayy ( ´ ▽ ` )ノ ) so i took it for a spin a couple weeks ago. It works pretty neat, and some don’t even realized i was taking photos.

So anyway, what are we looking for in street photography? I think the concept it’s pretty much the same as other kind of photos i took in the wedding events.

You’re not just taking pictures of some object, but you are capturing a story. Some picture don’t even need any title. You look at the picture, and it tell you what is all about.

That what’ i’m trying to do when doing street photography. Well at least, that’s what i think…lol..because you can call me a noob in this area.

Anyway, up there is some of my works, enjoy ♪( ´θ`)ノ
